Cubs - Investiture

Clarkston Scout Halls
There will be leader training taking place in the Clarkston Scout Hall tonight, please can the cubs be as quiet as possible when arriving.
Investiture - We have 26 cubs to invest tonight. They will receive their membership badges and joining certificate. Unfortunately on this occasion, we are unable to invite parents along as there would be too many people in the halls.
We will also be doing some activities on the cub scout promise and world membership badge.
All cubs must be wearing their cub jumper and neckie for the investiture. If your cub does not yet have a neckie, they can be bought from the leaders for £11.
As part of the investiture, Cubs will be asked to recite the Cub Scout Promise:
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law
The promise can be adapted to suit other religions or no religion. These can be found here: Promises and Ceremonies | Scouts
If you would like your child to use an alternative promise, please let Juliet know.
Dear Parents
To raise funds we raffle a Christmas Hamper each year which is drawn on Friday 1st December .
The 1st prize Hamper is worth over £100 mostly bought out of Marks and Spencers, with 2nd and 3rd prizes worth over £20 each.
The Beaver/Cub/Scout/Explorer who sells a winning ticket will also receive a prize.
We are asking each member of the group to sell 10 tickets.
- Ticket price £1.00
- Write the name and phone number of the person buying the ticket on the front
- Write the name of the Beaver/Cub/Scout/Explorer who sold the ticket, on the back of the ticket.
- Put money and tickets in bag
- Hand in to your section leader
