Badges and awards
There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Explorer Scout Section.
Queen's Scout Award
The Queen's Scout Award is the culmination of everything that Explorer Scouts and Scout Network members have achieved in Scouting.
This prestigious award is widely recognised and well-regarded by tutors and employers. Including it in your CV or UCAS form demonstrates that you are committed, motivated and possess leadership skills. It will help you stand out from the crowd.
Every Explorer Scout has the potential to become a Queen's Scout, but only if they are prepared to make the considerable effort and commitment required.
The Unit leadership team are here to support every Explorer Scout in achieving the ultimate goal of being able to say, "I'm a Queen's Scout".
Chief Scout's Awards
During their time in the Unit Explorer Scouts will work towards their Chief Scout's Awards.
Although similar in structure to the Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) awards, the Scout Awards are more demanding. For those working on their D of E at school, there is the opportunity to count some of the sections towards the Chief Scout's Awards.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Explorer Scouts can also register for the duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and work for its awards in parallel with the Chief Scout's and Queen's Scout's Awards..
