Kit List For Camp in Tents
The following should be brought to camp packed in a rucksack that everything can fit in.
Please make sure Scout is present when everything is being put into the rucksack so they know where things are
Must Bring items below
Sleep mat for sleeping on (this stops cold coming up though the ground and keeps the scouts warm at night)
Sleeping Bag (3 TO 4 season)
Small Day Rucksack
Small torch
Waterproof trousers
Wellies or outdoor boots
Waterproof jacket
Waterproof is the key for th items above,as we do not have the use of any indoor building.
Hand towel & tea towel (with name on it)
Wash Kit
Plate, bowl, mug (these must not be breakable and must be named)
Knife, fork and spoon (with name or mark on)
Plastic drinking bottle
Underwear
Pyjamas
Trousers (not jeans please - they not suitable for outdoor activities)
Gloves
Hat
Jumpers
T-shirts
Socks
Shorts
Trainers (Plus one pair that can get wet)
Sun cream
Midge repellent
Maximum of £5.00 in a wallet with their name on it this will be the responsibility of the scout not to lose it.
Teddy Bear (this is the first night away from home for a lot of the boys and girls, some may wish to take their teddy but may feel embarrassed so if we all take one no one is singled out - I will have mine with me!)
Please do not send any sweets & cartons of juice with your scout, as they will only end up eating the lot on the first night in bed and then being up all night sick!!
The following are items not allowed:
No aerosols of any kind
Pen knives/Swiss Army knives
Games consoles (hand held or otherwise)
Mobile telephones (if there is a problem we will contact you)
Any kind of toy which could cause damage,
CD/Radio/Cassette/MP3 Players
They can live with out them and all will be taken off them if arrive
with them.
Useful information
If your scout has medicine which they needs to take then please hand this to the first aider clearly labelled with their name and dosage required on arrival . (Details will already be noted on the medical form)
As far as possible, please label your Scouts’s belongings, its amazing how many of the Scouts going will all have the same T-shirt etc!
